As a labor-intensive company that has more than 8,000 employees, PT Adis Dimension Footwear recognizes their employees are resources who drive the company’s progress. Therefore, PT Adis Dimension Footwear is committed to treat all of its employees safely and fairly by making a Company Policy on Anti-Discrimination. This policy is designed to create an equal and inclusive work environment.
Moving from this anti-discrimination spirit, PT Adis Dimension Footwear together with seven major companies in Indonesia established a coalition of companies called IBCWE (Indonesian Business Coalition for Women Empowerment). One of the IBCWE work programs is the EDGE (Economic Dividends for Gender Equality) certification program, where this certification shows that the company is committed to implement gender equality in its work environment.
“Gender equality is not only about the number of women and men in the company, but we go deeper to see the positions of women and men in the company,” explained Maya Juwita, Executive Director of IBCWE.
Gender equality even started before someone entered the company. “In the very beginning, during a job interview, when the interviewer from the HR department asked the prospective female employees whether they are married or not, that was already uncomfortable,” said Maya.
Gender equality in PT Adis Dimension Footwear is also reflected in the percentage of total female leaders which reaches 21%, where the details of the female leaders are as follows: a Director, two General Managers, 14 Managers, 50 Supervisors, 130 Staff, and 66 Team Leaders.
According to Sandi Witomo (HR & SMS GM PT Adis Dimension Footwear), one of the codes of conduct for PT Adis is that the company does not discriminate. “We do not discriminate in any form, we provide equal opportunities for both male and female employees in pursuing their career,” said Sandi.
PT Adis Dimension Footwear’s commitment is recognized in the form of certification related to gender equality, EDGE (Economic Dividends for Gender Equality) and is one of the first five companies in Indonesia to receive an EDGE MOVE Certificate in Southeast Asia. With this certification, the company guarantees its commitment to create a workplace that provides equal space and opportunity for women and men to develop their full potential. This is certainly a plus for the company in the eyes of employees and society.
