December 13, 2023The Indonesian Business Coalition for Women’s Empowerment (IBCWE) conducted a rapid survey in February 2023 to see opportunities for women returning to work after a career break as main caregivers.
As many as 98.5 percent of women who are experiencing a career break have a high desire and confidence to return to the workforce. “This figure shows that the majority of women who are currently experiencing a break in their professional lives want and have high confidence in facing situations or challenges that will be faced when returning to their professional roles and in their families,” said Maya Juwita, Executive Director of IBCWE.
This survey also shows that the average age of the majority of respondents is the productive age of 29-33 years which reaches 28.90 percent, while from the education level, 59 percent are a bachelor’s degree.
“We feel the need for attention from companies to consider women who want to return to work after a career break. Because they are also a hidden talent pool, with good qualifications,” she added.
