March 18, 2024To support pioneering employers committed to addressing the challenges of women’s dual roles at home and at work, the Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE) and Investing in Women (IW), with the backing of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development (Prospera), have developed a guide to employer-supported childcare.
Building upon regulations and standards from Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (MoECRT) as well as Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (MoWECP), this guide provides practical steps and considerations for employers to support their workforce, alleviate the double burden, and improve work-life balance, ultimately leading to higher retention rates.
The guide document outlines the multiple advantages of providing employer-supported childcare support, as well as best practices, the standards and regulatory framework in Indonesia, available options, and, crucially, a starting point for implementation. It offers tailored recommendations based on employee needs assessments and the company’s structural and financial capacities.
